The 2018/19 interdisciplinary grant was awarded to GYA members Suzanne Bouclin and Binyam Sisay Mendisu for their project on ‘Digital Storytelling to counter language endangerment‘. Since receiving the grant, the project team has conducted multiple training and information workshops in Addis Abiba, Ethiopia (February 2019), as well as literature and policy analysis work.
Current work-in-progress includes the completion of a “Train-the-Trainer” manual for teachers using Digital Storytelling (DST) in Ethiopia, a scholarly article, and a cooperation with UNESCO for further work specifically with DST for teachers. Read more about the project’s aims and outcomes here.
