The webinar is targeting both youth under 25 and young water professionals between 25-35.
The main aims of this online satellite event include mobilizing youth in the Asia and Pacific Region to raise awareness about the youth engagement process of the 9th World Water Forum and identify priorities and recommendations from youth across the region for submission to the Youth Steering Committee for the Forum. The webinar will involve discussions that will encourage youth to register their events as a part of the Dakar Initiative 2022. This webinar is organized by UNESCO in collaboration with Youth Steering Committee of the World Water Forum, Youth delegates of the World Water Council and youth networks in Asia and the Pacific. The programme includes a panel discussion with several youth leaders who will present the main issues affecting youth regarding Water Security for Peace and Development in the Asia and Pacific region. The speakers will also identify some of the main challenges faced by youth in the region according to the four priorities of the 9th World Water Forum and propose recommendations to address them. The four priorities of the forum are:
- Water Security and Sanitation;
- Water for rural development;
- Cooperation; and
- Means and Tools.
The speakers will also present youth-led activities that can be recommended for the Dakar Initiative 2022. All youths in the Asia and Pacific Region are invited to attend the webinar, complete the questionnaire in order to register for the event and mobilize and invite their youth networks to participate in the webinar.
